Press On

Welcome back!! Happy Sunday!!

I’d love to share a short, motivating & uplifting piece with you all. In life, we face lots of challenges, struggles and low moments. We all would love to have seamless, happy & stress free days but that’s not the reality of life.

However, you can push past those low moments and cancel them in your mind and spirit. Let me share something special with you. Life is a race, but not a race between you and others but a race with yourself. A race to do better than your last best feat. The Apostle Paul shares something important with us in Philippians 3:13-14. He writes “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize”. Amen. Paul did not look back or allow his past failures weigh him down, nor did he let his past successes make him complacent. Rather, He pressed on toward the goal to become more and more like Jesus.

Relate this to your life real quick. You may be at a point of stress, you might be breaking down and maybe given up already. Well, I’m here to remind you to keep pushing! Press on! If you are hearing “no’s” speak “yes’s” over your life. I am just about a month away from graduating college. This period of transition is tough because the four years are over. There is no returning to college for Junior year or senior year. It’s done- for now; until graduate school. This last month has been extremely stressful, especially finishing up assignments, projects, taking care of all my other responsibilities as well as being good to myself. I know how hard I have worked and pushed so it’s a bit nerve wracking to step out and truly step out on faith. However, I am pressing on in faith and you should too.

What are some practical things you can do to press on and persevere? - Spend more time with God: If you would like some tips on how to do that, listen to this podcast here

- Use your time wisely

- Eat well. Sound minds & sound bodies go hand in hand.

- Remember your why.

- Journal! Write down your thoughts and feelings. It brings clarity. It re-centers and grounds you.

- Think about how beautiful the end result will be.

My cousin shared something great with me. She said ”No does not mean rejection, it just means redirection”. So if you get some "no's", just know that new doors are opening up for you! Chains are being broken! Breakthroughs are happening! Believe that!

As my Ghanaians or maybe Africans say, “God no go shame us!”. Yes, God won’t put us to shame.

Have a blessed, happy, spirit-filled, joyful and power packed week!

Until next time,

Be you, do you, stay you!

Adwoa.
