The Word that Healed Me

Glad you came back. I hope today's post speaks to you.
Last October through November was a really rough patch for me. I was no longer my usual jovial self. I became anti-social and wanted to be alone. I felt this dark cloud hovering above me. I just wasn't Adwoa. My friends and most people around me noticed it even when I tried to put on a facade in public to conceal my unhappiness. There really wasn't a reason, at least one that I could identify. My friends and sister were solid rocks during this time. I decided to seek God and really find answers to the way I was feeling.
He sure did answer my prayer but did not give me comfort directly. He brought healing to me through a word that one of my very close friends shared at a student-led service at school.
I literally recall the date. It was Sunday, November 24 2019. I sat in the front row per usual ready for a great time in the Lord's presence. After a beautiful time of praise and worship, the word that healed me came.
So today, I will share this word with you to the best of my ability since I'm a secondary source.
It was titled "Let Go of The Deadweight"
Why should you let go of the dead weight?
1. God wants you to come to Him.
Don't walk away from Him. Walk TO Him with your burden and lay it at His feet. You have to decide when you're done fighting. It is only then, that you will be truly able to let Him have it and do His thing!
2. It's hurting you. The pain really isn't worth it so why keep suffering?
3. It hinders you. In my case, it hindered me from being my outgoing, carefree self. It hindered me from honestly being happy and enjoying the life I deserve.
How should you do it?
1. Identify the weight.
I could not identify the weight myself so I had to pray for help in identifying it.
2. Stop entertaining it! Seriously, stop.
In this period, one of my girlfriends said to me, "If you feel those bad thoughts and sadness coming, open your mouth and cast it off your life." Say affirmative words to cancel that negativity. There's power in the tongue.
3. LET IT GO! LET IT GO!
So today I encourage you to let go of any deadweight you are carrying. Cast all your burdens on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
I don't know why I felt the need to make this particular post but I genuinely hope it helps someone who is in this season. I pray you find true healing and inner peace.
God loves you, allow Him to work on you.
God bless you!
Until next time,
Be you, do you, stay you
Adwoa.
